UWC គឺជា បណ្តាញសាលាមួយដ៏ល្អនៅលើពិភពលោក។​ UWC ផ្តល់នូវកម្មវិធីសិក្សាIB(បាក់ឌុបអន្តរជាតិ)​ ដែលមានគុណភាព និងត្រូវបានទទួលស្គាល់ទូទាំងពិភពលោក​​​ ហើយព្រមទាំងជួយឲសិស្សអាចបន្តការសិក្សាថ្នាក់ជាន់ខ្ពស់នៅសាកលវិទ្យាល័យនានាតាមបណ្តាប្រទេសផ្សេងៗ។ ប៉ុន្តែIBមិនមែនជាហេតុផលតែមួយគត់ដែលខ្ញុំសម្រេចចិត្តដាក់ពាក្យទៅរៀននៅUWCនោះទេ។​ អ្វីដែលខ្ញុំចាប់អារម្មណ៍ជាងគេគឺភាពចម្រុះ។​ UWC មានចំនួន១៨សាលានៅក្នុង១៨ប្រទេសផ្សេងៗគ្នា លើទ្វីបចំនួន៤​ ចាប់ពីប្រទេសកំពុងអភិវឌ្ឍ ទៅ​ប្រទេសជឿនលឿន។​​ សាលានីមួយៗមាន​សិស្ស ចម្រុះជាតិសាសន៍ មកពីជាង៩០ប្រទេស​​ ព្រមទាំងមានស្ថានភាពជីវភាពខុសៗគ្នា​ ដូចជាសិស្សខ្លះជាជនភាសខ្លួន​ រីឯសិស្សមួយចំនួនជាសមាជិករាជវង្ស។​ ម៉្យាងទៀត ទោះបីការបង់ថ្លៃសិក្សានៅUWC មានតម្លៃខ្ពស់ក៏ដោយ​ ខ្ញុំ ក៏ដូចជាសិស្សភាគច្រើននៅUWC សុទ្ធទទួលបានអាហារូបករណ៍ទៅតាមស្ថានភាពរៀងៗខ្លួន។

នៅឆ្នាំ២០២០​ ខ្ញុំទទួលបាន​អាហារូបករណ៍ទៅសិក្សានៅសាលា UWC Changshu នៅប្រទេសចិន។​ ប៉ុន្តែក៏ដូចអ្នករាល់គ្នាដែរ​ ជម្ងឺរាតត្បាតសកលកូវីដ១៩ បានផ្តល់ការប៉ះពាល់ដល់ដំណើរប្រព្រឹត្តប្រចាំថ្ងៃ។​ សាលាChangshu មិនអាចបើកទ្វារស្វាគមន៍សិស្សចូលរៀនបាន​ ដោយសារតែការរឹតត្បឹតការធ្វើដំណើរ។​​ ដូច្នេះហើយ​ ទើបខ្ញុំសម្រេចចិត្តពន្យាពេលទៅរៀន១ឆ្នាំ។​ ដោយមាន​ការជួយពី Cambodia National Committee ខ្ញុំត្រូវបានផ្ទេរ​ឲទៅរៀននៅសាលា Li Po Chun UWC នៅទីក្រុងហុងកុង នៅចុងខែសីហានេះ។​ LPC បានផ្តល់ព័ត៌មាន​ជាច្រើនដល់ខ្ញុំទាក់ទងនឹងស្ថានភាពនៅសាលា​ ក៏ដូចជាហុងកុងទាំងមូល។​ ហុងកុង​ បានទប់ស្កាត់ការរីករាលដាលនៃជម្ងឺកូវីដ១៩​បានយ៉ាង​ល្អ ហើយនៅក្នុងសាលាLPC គ្មាននរណាម្នាក់បានឆ្លងជម្ងឺនេះទេ ប៉ុន្តែវិធានការសុវត្ថិភាពផ្សេងៗត្រូវបានអនុវត្តយ៉ាងខ្ជាប់ខ្ជួន។​

អំឡុងពេលនេះ ខ្ញុំមាន​ទំនាក់ទំនងជាច្រើនជាមួយសិស្សមកពីប្រទេសផ្សេងៗ​ដែលនឹងទៅរៀននៅសាលាUWCដូចខ្ញុំដែរ។​ ពួកយើងបានជជែកជាមួយគ្នាតាមប្រព័ន្ធអ៊ីនធឺណែត ហើយបានដោះដូរគំនិតទៅវិញទៅមក។​ នេះបង្ហាញថា សិស្សUWCម្នាក់សុទ្ធតែមានស្មារតីUWCនៅក្នុងខ្លួនរួចស្រាប់ហើយ។​ ថ្ងៃមុន​ ខ្ញុំបាន​និយាយជាមួយសិស្សជនជាតិអ៊ីស្រាអែលម្នាក់ដែលនឹងទៅរៀននៅសាលាUWC Pearson ក្នុងប្រទេសកាណាដា​​ អំពីជម្លោះរវាងប្រទេសរបស់គាត់​​ និងប្រទេសប៉ាលេស្ទីន។​ ខ្ញុំរំពឹងថា ខ្ញុំនឺងមានការជជែកវែកញែកបែបនេះជាច្រើននៅសាលាLPC ហើយខ្ញុំមានអារម្មណ៍រំភើបមែនទែនជាមួយនឹងការរៀនIB រយៈពេល២ឆ្នាំ រួមទាំងភាពចម្រុះរបស់សាលា​ ការផ្លាស់ប្តូរវប្បធម៌ មានមិត្តភក្តិចម្រុះជាតិសាសន៍ ការរស់នៅជីវិតមួយថ្មី​ ហើយជាពិសេសគឺ ចូលរួមចំណែកជាមួយបេសកម្មរបស់UWCក្នុងការធ្វើឲការអប់រំក្លាយជាកម្លាំងចលករមួយ​​ ដែលបង្រួបបង្រួមមនុស្ស ជាតិសាសសន៍​ និងវប្បធម៌ ដើម្បីសន្តិភាព និង​អនាគតប្រកបដោយនិរន្តភាព។

UWC is, without any doubt, one of the school network you can imagine of. Having IB as its core system, UWC provides an excellent and internationally recognised qualification to students, and helps them to pursue higher education at any universities around the world, including the widely-renowned institutions. But, that is not the only reason I applied to UWC. One feature that really captures my imagination is its diversity. 18 UWC colleges can be found in 18 different countries, across 4 continents, ranging from developing nations to the economic superpowers. Each school consists of students coming from at least 90 countries, with all sorts of social and financial background, from refugee to royalty (Yes, Royalty. In fact, 2 European princesses are going to UWC the same year as me). The other merit is that, although it is undeniable that UWC’s fee costs an arm and a leg (honestly for me, it costs the whole body), the majority of students receive partially or fully funded scholarship, and I am one of them. With what being said, I dare you to find schools that have such qualities as UWC.

In 2020, I was awarded the scholarship to study at UWC Changshu China. But as you all know, the Covid-19 pandemic changed the lives of many around the world, and my plans were not spared by the virus storm. CSC couldn’t go on with the normal academic year due to travel restrictions, and I decided to take a gap year. It was a nerve-racking moment, but thanks to the great effort of the Cambodian National Committee, I was finally transferred to Li Po Chun UWC of Hong Kong, which I am attending this autumn. LPC has kept me well-informed about the situation in Hong Kong and at the campus. Hong Kong had a good job in keeping the virus under control, and so far no student or staff of the school has got infected, but safety measures are in place like anywhere else.

In the meantime, I have met many international students who are going to attend different UWC schools this year, and of course, LPC students some of which are my potential roommates. We have talked and video-called online, exchanged ideas and opinions. I can see all of us already have UWC spirit in ourselves. The other day, I have a nice chat with an Israeli student, who’s going to UWC Pearson, about the recent conflict between Israel and Palestine. I am not only expecting more kind of this talk at the LPC campus, but I’m also looking forward to my 2-year IB journey, accompanied by the diversity, cultural exchange, international friends, a new way of life, and most importantly, sharing the UWC mission of “making education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future”.
